JOB TITLE: (Sr.) Application Engineer, Pistons
LOCATION: Shanghai Office based (PuDong District), while travel required upon business request
REPORTS TO: Engineering Manager, Piston
SALARY PACKAGE: 200K – 400K Annually

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is an engineering customer service position for piston.  The Application Engineer is the lead engineering contact and responsible for performing the necessary job functions needed to fully support customer projects. The work scope includes part design&analysis, validation testing, failure analysis, samples management, APQP process etc.
· Work closely with Sales team to develop new customer project.
· Participate in the Request for Quote (RFQ) and Sample Order (SO) processes.
· To conceptualize new designs and concepts based on customer requirements.
· Work with global team in the design of piston products to meet customer requirements.
· Work with manufacturing facility to assure manufacturability of design.
· As leader, initiate and perform tasks for the APQP process.
· Communicate customer test requirements and publish customer test reports.
· Initiate analysis on returned product for failure mode and report results to the customer.
· Actively participate in achieving corporate and divisional goals and objectives as to quality, cost, profit, return on sales, productivity, and customer service, adherence to budget goals.
· To assist top management on definition of new product and technology strategy to match customer’s product development trend and requirement.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in internal combustion engine, mechanical engineering, or material science.
· 5-7 years related working experience in Automotive Engineering.
· Project Management experience.
· Good knowledge of engines preferred.
·  Ability to perform detailed customer presentations.
·  Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects concurrently.
·  Ability to evaluate the business issues and prioritizes activities.
·  Good English communication skill both in writing and oral.
·  Travel as required to support the customer and develop new opportunities.
