1st, 2nd... term frequency is square root of eigenvalue- which is the characteristic of certain modal system. (Note:[M]{x}''+[c]{x}'+[K]{x}={F},[w^2]=[K]*inv[M] )We can easily imagine that 1st term frequency is the natural frequency for the first particle, meanwhile the rest of particles vibrate following this frequency under this condition; 2nd term for 2nd, etc.
I only work on vibration, few of knowledge on noise.

well, anyone dedicated Vibration book is ok either
Modern noise theory, Dayou, Ma
probably cannot find too much book except it relating to noise, though too much theoratical rather than practical |
