(1) The exhaust energy audit presented above is only an estimate, for following reasons
a) Useable energy at rich conditions is based on stoichiometry of usual fuels (i.e. gasoline and diesel)
b) Exhaust energy is estimated by subtracting in-cylinder work and ht. transfer from useable fuel energy
c) Exhaust energy estimate does not account for the sensible energy at intake (datum of 298k)
thus, the exhaust energy estimate is good if the control volume is bounded by the intake and exhaust
valves, intake temperature is 298k and mixture ratio is lean (or rich for usual fuels only).
(2) For mean-value cylinder calibration connect the energy audit subassembly map to the engine model
map to get an accurate exhaust energy
