If during normal braking the rear axle of the vehicle is locking earlier than the front axle, then stability of the vehicle is largely compromised.
The EBD ensures that the rear wheels are monitored to the sensitivity of wheel slip. If slip is detected, then pressure for the rear wheels is held and a further pressure build-up on the rear brakes is thus avoided.
EBD may also perform a pressure decrease on the rear axle, if the slip begins to increase.
